International research shows that many design clients are researching the effectiveness of their projects to prove the effectiveness of the approach taken by the designer.

In the UK, the Design Council has conducted research over the past 10 years that tracks the use of design and its effectiveness. They have found that the more British firms use design, the bigger their profits and turnover. They also report that the quality of their services improved, they were more competitive and their productivity increased.
